Knowledgeable Camera Craftsman
Over the last five years Pruitt has worked with just about every type of video camera, from HD models like the F900 and Varicam through the usual DVCam, DigiBeta and Betacam on through HD-V and MiniDV professional and prosumer models. Many weeks of shooting time using film lenses for these cameras, whether Zeiss DigiPrimes directly mounted to the camera as with the F900 CineAlta or Nikkor still-camera lenses through a 35mm lens adapter like the Redrock M2 or Cinevate Brevis, have demonstrated his ability to create phenomenal images that take full advantage of these optics.
His background in lighting gives him flexibility in setting up shots that look great in a variety of different situations, from straightforward interviews to highly stylized dramatic images. Experience in getting great images quickly under pressure helps when time is of the essence. Pruitt has worked in many different environments, from corporate boardrooms to homeless shelters to the ocean off Staten Island, and through this breadth of experience has always behaved professionally and helped put clients at ease. He knows how to manage crews and interact with everyone from producers to PAs. You can hire Pruitt with confidence borne out by many repeat clients. It's recently been announced that his production company, Shotgun Shakespeare Productions, has won a 2007 Telly Award for Non-Profit Promotional and Fundraising Videos! Pruitt worked as co-producer, field producer and Director of Photography on the project, and greatly appreciates the recognition of his industry peers.
